The Huobi Group, the company behind one of the world’s most popular crypto exchanges called Huobi, is going to celebrate its eighth anniversary in a very unusual way. In addition to celebrations, coin giveaways and other bonuses, the company has prepared a special surprise for its customers – a ticket to space. One lucky winner of the exchange competition will be able to fly into orbit using the services of a space agency or private firm. It is true that Huobi representatives have not yet disclosed details about the organisation that will organise the flight. We tell you more about what is happening.
It should be noted that Huobi is really popular among the cryptocurrency community. Specifically, the platform now ranks third in the overall ranking of exchanges in terms of spot trading volume, i.e. cryptocurrency transactions at market price. In the last 24 hours, trading volume on the platform amounted to the equivalent of $6.1 billion. By comparison, leader Binance has $38.5 billion in volume, while second-place exchange Coinbase has $9.5 billion.

That said, the very theme of space was not chosen here by accident. The fact is that there is a popular meme within the cryptocurrency community about “flying to the moon”, which means a dramatic increase in value – whether of an individual asset or a niche coin in general. In essence, traders here want to provide a similar opportunity, albeit without the moon. Therefore, on the whole, the choice of this prize can be considered a success.

The event will take place on November 8 and will feature panel discussions with industry experts and government officials. Huobi Group co-founder Du Jun noted that the company will continue to expand its global presence with innovative products and localised services, starting with the markets of Turkey and Brazil. To strengthen its global expansion, Huobi plans to increase its headcount from 2,300 to 3,000 employees by the end of 2021.
