Fast food restaurant chain Burger King will be giving away cryptocurrencies to customers. How is the promotion set up?
Global fast-food chain Burger King has announced a partnership with Robinhood to offer free cryptocurrency giveaways to its customers. From November 1-21, visitors to Burger King locations in the US who spend more than five dollars on their order will receive a bonus in the form of Dogecoin coins or, in rare exceptions, BTC and ETH. To claim their prize, they need to sign up for the Robinhood Crypto app. We tell you more about what’s happening and its importance.
Note that dog tokens have so far held their own in the top ten cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalisation. Today, SHIB and DOGE are ranked ninth and tenth respectively. Here is the corresponding table.
Where to give away cryptocurrencies
To participate in the promotion, you need to use a special promo code when making a purchase in the official Burger King app, on the website or in the company’s restaurant itself. A pool of 2 million DOGE, 20 BTC and 200 ETH has been prepared to give away prizes. No more than one bonus can be received in a single day.
By the way, Dogecoin didn't appear in the list of available bonus options by accident: altcoin has gained a lot of popularity this year thanks to the public relations efforts of billionaire Ilon Musk. What's more, Dogecoin "gave way" to its main copycat project, Shiba Inu, which has also begun to be integrated into the payments sphere en masse.
The decision to resort to giving away crypto looks very logical against the backdrop of the rapid rise in the popularity of digital assets this year. In fact, the crypto market has become too big to be ignored by big companies. Well, the action at Burger King is another opportunity to attract more attention from crypto-enthusiasts.
Also worth noting is the huge interest of large corporations in the field of unique tokens (NFT). By now, brands like McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell have already launched their own NFT collections to promote fast-food restaurant chains.
Importantly, the tokens are being used not just as bonuses, but also as quite real means of payment. And outside of El Salvador, where bitcoins can now be paid for officially in any shop.
US cinema chain AMC Entertainment is preparing to integrate cryptocurrency payments in BTC, ETH, LTC and DOGE for movie tickets. However, this is not a complete list of digital assets: earlier on Twitter, the company’s CEO Adam Aron asked the opinion of crypto-enthusiasts about whether cinemas should accept Shiba Inu, Dogecoin’s altcoin follower, which has skyrocketed in popularity. In a poll he created, 85 per cent of those who voted gave an affirmative answer.
As a reminder, SHIB has been rising very rapidly lately and has increased about eight-fold in a month. The altcoin gained a lot of popularity back in the spring, after another wave of Dogecoin growth created by billionaire Ilon Musk’s tweets. In just a few months, Shiba Inu went from being an unknown shiatcoin to the ninth-largest coin in the crypto industry in terms of capitalisation.
In essence, though, nothing has changed with SHIB - it's still a cryptocurrency with weak fundamentals that is being actively bought by ordinary investors. If the decentralised ShibaSwap exchange wasn't behind the project, the token would have been worthless altogether.
In any case, SHIB has already overtaken Dogecoin in the aforementioned metric and has yet to fall. All of this has led Aron to believe that altcoin would make a great payment option for his cinema chain. At least 85 percent of the nearly one hundred thousand people who voted under his poll agree with that.
Cryptocurrency will soon appear not only in cinemas but also in Le Bistrot d’Eleonore et Maxence in Paris. This amazing find was shared on Twitter by a cryptocurrency fan under the nickname Crypto Master. He posted a video of a restaurant showing stickers about accepting Shiba Inu as payment for a check. A restaurant employee later confirmed that SHIB payment was possible.

As you can see, memes have tremendous power when it comes to the cryptocurrency community. SHIB has every chance to continue growing on the HYIP, but the coin is hardly a good long-term investment: usually with a market reversal, the price of such projects suffers a fall the most.
We therefore recommend, as is our tradition, to be cautious and refrain from buying a crypto-asset at its peak. That said, many novice investors will go through this anyway.
