Recall that a metavieworld is a virtual space for people. They are in it and interact with each other using computers or more sophisticated devices like virtual reality helmets. In today's environment, with mass restrictions and pandemic-like restrictions, the concept has become very popular: you can move around in a virtual world without any problems.

Although the idea has found a lot of fans, Tesla CEO Ilon Musk is certainly not one of them. In December 2021 the entrepreneur made it clear that he does not consider a “monitor attached to the nose” to be anything interesting. However, in this case, the meta-universes could partially become a competitor for a project Ilon called Neuralink, so his remarks should be taken with caution. You can read more about Musk’s remarks in a separate article.

What will happen to the world in four years

According to Marty Resnick, vice-president of Gartner, the various brands will have to collaborate as the demand for virtual and interactive products from consumers increases. In other words, Resnick expects that in the future we will have a kind of “universal meta-universe” where different types of activities will be combined. Here’s the expert’s response, in which he shares his vision of the situation.

Attending virtual education courses, buying digital real estate – these activities currently take place in different virtual environments.

Accordingly, Resnick bets on strengthening this trend. And since the pandemic and restrictions are not getting any weaker so far, this prediction seems logical enough.

Recall that Facebook recently changed its name to Meta and announced that it is actively exploring the possibilities of meta-universes

The vice president is confident that by 2026 at least 30 percent of the world’s organizations will have some kind of product in the meta-universes. Here’s his quote on this, published by news outlet Cointelegraph.

Ultimately, brands will exist in a single meta-universe with multiple offshoots related to technology and user experience.

That is, developers will likely seek to merge their own virtual spaces with others. And such a possibility seems quite revolutionary.

Recall that earlier research firm Strategy Analytics predicted meta-village capitalization would rise to $42 billion by 2026. But firm Grayscale has a much more optimistic data – a trillion dollars of capitalization.

Growth forecast for the meta-universe market

As Jawad Ashraf, co-founder and CEO of startup Terra Virtua, points out, the study emphasizes that meta-universes will change the way users interact with virtual environments. They will become a place for social activities, work meetings, gaming events, concerts and so on. Which means that in the future, many people will probably not leave their homes. Instead, they will interact with their acquaintances in virtual reality.

It may be too early to predict exactly what meta-universes will become, but we do know that they will open up a whole new user experience and improve our lives.

It should be noted that the theme of the massive popularity of virtual reality was played out in the film First Man Standby. The film was directed by Steven Spielberg, and its portrayal of the future was very colourful.

Here’s the trailer for that film.

We think that the concept of meta universes is really going to be popular in the future. And since it is inextricably linked to NFT tokens and blockchain, the virtual world will also affect the popularity of cryptocurrencies. So it's clearly not too late to start getting interested in the topic now.
