Updating nodes for different cryptocurrencies

In January, developers of various cryptocurrencies released many updates to their software. Some updates were planned in advance, while others were needed to fix current issues. For example, the FLUX node was updated several times during this period due to persistent network issues. ERGO also had some problems.

Here is a list of the most important updates and actual versions of the installed node software.

  • Firo v0.14.9.4-g82a9a564c;
  • ETC CoreGeth/v1.12.6-stable-20d20d72;
  • ZEC v4.6.0-1;
  • CORTEX v1.10.30-stable-67e7700;
  • Ergo Protocol Reference Client 4.0.21.1;
  • Flux v5.2.0-e4f7588.

Halving Ravencoin

The Ravencoin halving took place on 11 January on a block numbered 2,100,000. The reward per block is now only 2,500 RVN, although previously it was equal to 5,000 RVN. Accordingly, the reward for miners is now halved.

Ethereum pool updates

The developers of 2Miners pool increased the number of balls for Ethereum pool in PPLNS mode. The number increased from 300 thousand to 1 million.

This will not affect the reward in any way. Instead, miners with little power - such as a single video card - will be able to participate in mining more blocks. How does the PPLNS pool payout system work?

2Miners’ Etherium pool found quite a few huge blocks in January. For example, on January 12 a block brought 83.65 ETH, on the 15th miners received 79.82 ETH for the block, and on the 29th the reward was 75.55 ETH.

Finally, the entire cryptocurrency community took notice of the gigantic reward of 170.65 ETH per block in the 2Miners solo pool.

2Miners Pool Bot

Bot is a handy tool for monitoring mining ring activity. It is also suitable for solo miners, as the bot also reports new blocks found by the equipment.

We recommend to join the Russian-speaking community of miners on Telegram.
