How is the family who sold all their savings for Bitcoin doing? A story by Didi Teichuttu
If you’ve been following the crypto industry for a relatively long time, you probably remember Didi Taihuttu. She is the head of a family who sold all her property in 2016 in order to invest it in Bitcoin. The plan turned out to be a winning one, as the value of BTC has increased tenfold since then, even despite the current drawdown after BTC hit an all-time high of $69,000 in November. The day before, Tyhuttu gave an interview in which he talked about his success story with the cryptosphere. Here are his lines.
Note that Didi Teichuttu’s name is indeed well-known among most Bitcoin investors, and quite deservedly so. For example, in February 2019 – the year of the global collapse of the coin market – he continued to believe in the future of BTC. At the time, he conceded that the first crypto might well collapse to $2,000, but “over the next five years it will certainly grow to $40,000 or even $100,000”. As we can see, this prediction by Teichuttu has partially come true.
As a result, Didi continues to make the cryptocurrency world more popular. And that includes convincing other families to follow their lead.
Who invested in Bitcoin everything
Here’s one of Tyhuttu’s quotes in which he shares his own perception of the world. The line was published by news portal Cointelegraph.
I have no cars, no motorbikes, nothing. And I’m happier than ever. And my wife agrees! At that point, we decided to break the chain and set an example for the kids.
In other words, Didi is sticking to the idea of giving up some serious possessions. And that sounds predictable, because a few years ago he sold his own house, among other things, for an investment in his first cryptocurrency. And since the investment proved to be a huge success by even the most conservative estimates, he must have transferred this approach to the rest of the world's perception.
He explains his realization that life is an accumulation of happiness, “not an accumulation of wealth”. Taihuttu’s three daughters “only have bitcoins, not bank accounts”, with the parents never looking back on their former lives. The family has spent the last five years travelling the world, staying in southern Portugal as a nomadic home base.
Note that the Tayhuttu family's stay in Portugal is no secret. In particular, Didi spoke about his attitude towards the country back in February 2022. Then he noted that the state offers serious tax incentives for cryptocurrency investors. In this regard, many large BTC holders have allegedly already moved there and spent their coins on real estate.
Taihuttu admits that, of course, he has trouble travelling around the world living on crypto – especially with three teenage daughters. However, this has not stopped other families from following in their footsteps. Tayhuttu cites the example of “six families” who have since sold all their possessions and started enjoying a new life. Taihuttu even persuaded his brother and sister to invest in cryptocurrency to lead a “decentralised digital nomad lifestyle”.
The head of the Bitcoin family is also unusually generous: he gives away around 40 per cent of his wealth to charity. Profits from trading, affiliate links, selling books and merchandise, as well as other activities of the “digital nomad” go to a wide variety of projects. That said, Taihuttu himself insists that he will attract even more people to the side of cryptocurrency fans in the future.
We believe that families like Taihuttu are extremely important to the cryptocurrency industry. Still, they symbolise absolute faith in digital assets and even a willingness to give up all material possessions in favour of coins. What's great is that Didi has gained worldwide recognition and popularity, so he's now earning sponsorship and publicity, among other things. And that's a great prospect for any crypto fan.
