How to mine cryptocurrencies profitably without switching? Setting up Profit Switcher on RaveOS
Today, the Etherium network has switched to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm, making it no longer possible to mine ETH using a video card. As a result, a huge number of miners are switching to other cryptocurrencies. Well, because the amount of “free” computing power is huge, the yields of popular coins due to the influx of miners began to jump up and down, including periodically going into minus. To avoid having to switch mining coins manually, the developers of RaveOS have added an auto-switching feature, i.e. automatically switching cryptocurrencies to mine according to set parameters. Thanks to it, the farm will mine the most profitable coin and the owner of the equipment will be able to save time.
It should be noted that the amount of available processing power due to the transition of Etherium to PoS has really turned out to be huge. As an example, let’s look at blockchain hash rate charts for popular coins over the course of a day.
For example, yesterday the Ethereum Classic hashrate was 46.34 Th/s, and now the figure has increased to 291.7 Th/s. That is, it increased more than six times.
A similar situation occurred with Ravencoin. The daily hashrate is 3.41 Th/s, and in the evening the volume reached 20.95 Th/s.
The Neoxa network also received a portion of new miners. The blockchain’s value rose from 1.38 Th/s to 4.35 Th/s on the day.
That is, the rate of return for mining different cryptocurrencies is now very volatile. And to save miners from having to switch between cryptocurrencies manually, developers of already familiar to us RaveOS system integrated capabilities of 2CryptoCalc calculator to determine the most profitable coin and switch to it. This is called Profit Switcher.
How to set up Profit Switcher in RaveOS
To start this new feature, let’s do some preparatory work. Choose the tab “Crypto Calc” on the left side toolbar. Here you need to select the time interval for the readings. It can be:
- Last 24 – to show the average return over the last 24 hours;
- Current – to show the current yield at the moment.
Then specify “Cluster(s)” or “Worker(s)”, for which you want to calculate the yield. Select the “View” button and view the list of available video cards. The estimated yield of coins to be mined using the Profit Switcher function will be displayed underneath them.
Next, it remains to select the cryptocurrencies that the farm will switch between using the Profit Switcher. For example, we choose RVN, NEOX, ETC and ERG.
Now let’s move on to the next step. Open the Wallet tab and create a wallet for each of the selected cryptocurrencies. Because 2Miners Mining Pool is able to pay rewards for RVN, ETC and ERG in Bitcoin, we will use BTC address for those coins for added convenience.
Go to “Dashboard”, choose the desired wallet and click on “Tuning”. At this stage, you have to set the optimal speedup for each of the selected cryptocurrencies. To do this, click on the “+” on the right and choose an algorithm from those offered.
Choose all algorithms for the selected coins. In this case there are three, since Ravencoin and Neoxa use the same mining algorithm.
Now configure a suitable overclock for each algorithm. Accordingly, with automatic switching the mining efficiency will be maximal.
The upside is that you only need to pick up the overclock once. Then the system will use the set parameters.
Please note that you need to adjust the overclocking with the "+" button for each algorithm separately. Some users adjust the index in the "All" tab, thus losing flexibility and losing additional profit.
The preliminary preparation is over. Now go back to the tab “Crypto Calc” and this time select “Profit Switcher”. We specify several parameters here, besides the mentioned “Last 24”.
- Recalculation time – shows the time of automatic recalculation and automatic switch to the coin with the highest yield;
- Profit notification – gives you the ability to receive email notifications when returns change;
- Mining auto update – will automatically switch the mining for selected devices/clusters when the yield of one of the selected coins changes. In this case it will switch to the first coin in the list.
After that, select the “Cluster(s)” or “Worker(s)” involved in the automatic switchover, for which the yield is calculated. We add our chosen RVN, NEOX, ETC and ERG, as shown in the screenshot below.
We press “Save” and also “Save&Apply”. Now when you click on “View” you will see the yields for each of the coins for the last 24 hours. Well, the mining now works in Profit Notification mode.
It's worth noting that the innovation works in beta, so the results may not be perfect. Be that as it may, the benefits are obvious. Now, miners don't have to spend time studying the data in the mining yield calculator, as the system will do it automatically. This saves time and nerves that are definitely worth saving in the current period after the Etherium merger.
