Profitable Ethereum PoW (ETHW) blocks

In the past, the Ethereum ETH network has periodically provided miners with additional rewards during congestion. In general, this mechanism is quite simple: the higher the load on the blockchain, the higher the gas price became. This, in turn, led to higher transaction costs and higher rewards for miners.

The same thing happened to the Ethereum PoW network in October.

Large reward for blocks on the Ethereum PoW network

The base reward per block on this network is 2 ETHW. However, on October 16, this figure increased by 50 and even 75 times per block. For example, block number 15743034 was the most successful, as it brought miners as much as 152 ETHW.

Decreased reward for the block on the Ergo network

On October 10, the block number 849,600 block reward on the Ergo network dropped from 48 to 45 ERG. The 2CryptoCalc mining yield calculator has been updated.

As a reminder, the reward per block in the Ergo network is reduced by 3 ERG every three months. More information about this initiative is written on the project website.

Consequently, the next reduction will take place in January 2023.

New servers and upgrades of cryptocurrency nodes

The 2Miners team always keeps the servers in great shape so that users enjoy mining without any problems. The same goes for the hardware. In particular, October will be remembered for updating both the hardware and the software component of the servers. As a result, we moved some of the pools to new, more efficient servers.

Representatives of 2Miners mining pool also updated some cryptocurrency nodes. Here are the most important updates for the month:

  • CKB 0.104.1 (f93b498 2022-09-07)
  • ZEN 3.2.0
  • XMR v0.18.1.2-release
  • Ergo Protocol Reference Client 4.0.105
