Nervos CKB update

The latest release of Nervos CKB version 0.119.0 was introduced on 25 October 2024. The update was an important one: it introduced a new preview chain that provides a test environment ahead of the upcoming hardfork on the Nervos network. Here are the key features:

  • New preview chain – gives developers and users the opportunity to interact with the hardfork changes before the official launch, thus increasing transparency and preparedness among ecosystem participants.
  • Testnet Activation – the hardfork has already been activated on thetestnet. It requires nodes to update to the latest version, allowing them to utilise and test relevant innovations.
  • Compatibility – ensures compatibility across different phases of the network, including changes planned for future epochs.

Major improvements and bug fixes in this release address multithreading, script optimisation and transaction conflict resolution, which in turn contributes to the overall reliability of the network.

Zephyr Protocol v2.0.0 – Launch of ZSD Yield Mechanism

The Zephyr network has been updated to version 2.0.0, also known as the ZSD Yield Release. Its release was in support of a new yield mechanism called ZSD Yield. Here are the most important changes and improvements:

  • ZSD Yieldmechanism – with thismechanism, users can steak ZSD and receive Zephyr Yield Shares (ZYS). This is a new asset that reflects the user’s share of the ZSD Yield Reserve.
  • Block Rewards Restructuring – To support the new yield system, block rewards have been reallocated. This in turn significantly changed the allocation in favour of reserve accumulation and management fees were eliminated.

This update is a notable shift in Zephyr’s approach to storing and distributing value for the sake of increasing the stability and growth of the ecosystem.

Uncertainty with the Pyrin network

October brought unpredictable difficulties for the Pyrin project. Its developers abruptly left the project and shut down all related online platforms, raising doubts about the future of the network. Bottom line:

  • The Pyrin project’s official website and social media channels were deactivated, depriving users of a direct source of information and updates.
  • Although mining continues, the stability and viability of PYI is questionable. Meanwhile, exchanges have stopped accepting cryptocurrency deposits.
  • Payments in BTC for PYI mining have been suspended, which generally reflects uncertainty about the project’s continued existence.

The website of the Pyrin blockchain project is no longer operational

We recommend exercising caution when mining PYI and switching to mining other cryptocurrencies. Use the 2CryptoCalc calculator to determine the most profitable projects for mining.
